The world has changed for the better for the past decades but we are still failing young people at home, in schools and in the community with regards to comprehensive sexuality education. Their sexual rights are not yet fulfilled.
In this episode Carine Weiss talks to Dr. Venkatraman Chandra-Mouli who is passionate about applying the best evidence we have to improve adolescents' lives. Appling evidence to design SRHR policies and programs is essential if we want better health outcomes for adolescents and young people.

Great insights! It’s interesting to learn that the way children are raised in India is very similar with Africa. I like the statement that said sexuality education begins from birth and it’s not necessarily only about sex but also acknowledging the different sexes as well. Contrary to popular believe, pornography is not always negative and I believe it can be manipulated into channelling healthy comprehensive sexuality education since it already has a large number of young audiences.

Totally in agreement with Dr Chandra's recommendation to focus on sexuality education. We need to stop brushing this under the carpet if we want to promote well-being of adolescents and provide them with much needed information.

Thank you MMS and Chandra for this thought-provoking insights on ASRHR. As advocacy leaders I believe that more than ever before, we have to put to practice what we know works. Bringing influential people to talk about adolescents and sexuality can really go a long way in engaging an entire community. It is even more critical that we galvanize to move away from only mentioning adolescents (in an insignificant way) when it comes to national and global agenda. Adolescents themselves should be a part of the discussion. Equal importance should be given to ASRH.
